Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and $2 for students,
children and seniors. All proceeds from the game will be donated to
the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
The Cougars are also selling Kean Blue Thinks
Pink t-shirts for $15.00 and pink bracelets for
$2.00. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer
Society.
Think Pink is a global, unified effort for the
WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer
awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and
beyond.
The WBCA began "Think Pink" in 2007 as an initiative to raise
breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in
communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort
and helped make the inaugural year of the WBCA's "Think Pink" a
success. This year's Think Pink" week will be held February 8 - 17
and the 2008 initiative has already unified over 600 women's
basketball teams for the cause.
This past fall, the Kean University Department of Athletics, in
conjunction with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC),
raised more than $4,000 in support of breast cancer awareness
during home contests in the month of October.
During the week of October 20-27th, football, women's
soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams each participated by
either wearing pink shirts during warm-ups or by lacing pink
shoelaces in their game shoes. Coaches and support staff also
joined the cause, by wearing pink shirts on the sidelines.
The Richard Stockton volleyball team as well as William Paterson
women's soccer team also participated in the cause by wearing pink
during warm-ups.
