Kean Inducts Charter Class into Chi Alpha Sigma

UNION, N.J. (4/14/08) - The Kean University Department of Athletics inducted its charter class into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, on Monday afternoon.

As a part of the 2008 charter induction class, the 19 student-athletes represented 10 different sports, and have passed at least 56 credits with a 3.4 grade point average.

The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University on May 17, 1996, as an honorary college athletic society for recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter winners at the college level.

Chi Alpha Sigma is composed of 162 colleges and universities representing 38 states.  Kean became the seventh school in New Jersey with a charter, joining Fairleigh Dickinson University, Montclair State University, Monmouth University, Ramapo College, Rutgers University and Seton Hall University.
