Join Athletic Training Club at Local 5K Race
UNION, N.J. - The Kean University Athletic Training Education Program and Athletic Training Club will be volunteering at the Roosevelt Intermediate School’s Second Annual 5K Race to Conquer Childhood Obesity through ING Run for Something Better on Sunday, May 2nd.
The athletic training students will volunteer as first aid responders and will be stationed at different cross streets along the 3.1 mile course for those runners who may require first aid care during the race. The students will also set up water stations to keep runners hydrated and volunteer with other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
In addition, the Kean athletic training club sponsored the first 40 Kean University students and staff with a valid Kean ID. On-site registration is available at the Roosevelt Intermediate School parking lot (301 Clark Street, Westfield, N.J.) beginning at 8 a.m. The run/walk will begin at 9 a.m., with awards and raffles following at 10 a.m.

ING Run for Something Better funds free school-based running fitness programs that challenge children to get active, set goals and start a lifetime habit of physical activity. The organization is dedicated to eliminating childhood obesity by funding youth running and fitness education programs across the country.
