Kean Has 59 Student-Athletes Earn NJAC Academic Honors
Pitman, N.J. (6/16/09) - The Kean University Department of Athletics placed 59 student-athletes on the New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Teams, as announced by the NJAC on Tuesday morning.
Senior Ashley Lindaberry (Washington, N.J.) and sophomore Scott Lafontaine (Glassboro, N.J.) earned first-team honors to headline the Cougar scholars, while senior Sara Steinman (Springfield, N.J.) and junior Kyle Maher (Red Bank, N.J.) were named to the second-team. An additional 55 student-athletes garnered honorable mention academic honors by the conference.
A conference-record total of 510 student-athletes from all 10 conference schools have been named to the NJAC All-Academic Team for the 2008-09 academic year. To be eligible for the squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum grade point average of 3.20.
