Kean Raises $4,000 in Think Pink
Campaign
Union, N.J.
(11/16/07) - The Kean University Department of
Athletics, in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council
(SAAC), raised more than $4,000 in support of breast cancer
awareness during home contests in the month of October.
To help raise money SAAC and its advisors sold "Think Pink"
t-shirts while also selling breast cancer awareness bracelets.
During the week of October 20-27th, football, women's
soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams each participated by
either wearing pink shirts during warm-ups or by lacing pink
shoelaces in their game shoes. Coaches and support staff also
joined the cause, by wearing pink shirts on the sidelines.
The Richard Stockton volleyball team as well as William Paterson
women's soccer team also participated in the cause by wearing pink
during warm-ups.
All money generated will be donated to the American Cancer
Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
