Student-Athletes Make Elizabeth a Little Greener

Elizabeth, N.J. (11/21/08) - This year, Kean University launched a new "Blue Goes Green" initiative.   KU is taking steps to reduce its environmental footprint and promote sustainability on campus and beyond. The Kean Athletic Department, in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), recently took part in a community service project that combined this initiative as well SAAC's dedication to giving back to the community by cleaning a local athletic facility in downtown Elizabeth, N.J.

Thanks to the assistance of Paul Addessa, from the Department of Recreation in the city of Elizabeth, last Friday, November 14^th, representatives from each team headed out in the strange November weather and gave-back by making the local community soccer complex a safer and "greener" place to compete and play.
