Feneis Propels Kean In NJAC Tournament; Cougars Eliminate Ramapo, 17-2 

Newark, N.J. (5/5/07) - Sophomore Colin Feneis (Spotswood, N.J.) tossed a complete game as top-seeded Kean University defeated fourth seeded Ramapo College, 17-2, Saturday afternoon in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark, N.J.

With the win Kean (32-6) will move on in the winners bracket to face second seeded The College of New Jersey.  That game will be played on Sunday, May 6^th at 10 a.m. at the host, Riverfront Stadium in Newark, N.J.  With the loss, Ramapo College (29-13) is eliminated from the tournament.

Feneis allowed eight hits along with two earned runs while improving to 4-0.  He also fanned nine and walked just one.

The Cougars offense exploded for seven runs in the top of the fourth to take a 9-0 lead on their way to recording 16 hits in today's win.

Junior Derek Gianakas (Edison, N.J.) was 1-for-3 with four RBI, including a three run shot over the leftfield wall in the seven run fourth.  Freshman Nick Nolan (Linden, N.J.) was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI.  Junior Maikel De La Rosa (Newark, N.J.) was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Freshman Michael Murano (Brick, N.J.) suffered the loss for the Roadrunners.  He (3-1) allowed eight runs, six earned, in three and a third innings.  He allowed six hits while also striking out one and walking one.
