Bartlinski Named NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. (5/9/07) - Sophomore right-hander Joe Bartlinski (South Amboy, N.J.) earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after improving to 5-0 following a pair of victories last week.

He first allowed just seven hits and two earned runs, while striking out six in six innings of work in Kean's 10-7 victory over New Jersey City University in the NJAC regular season finale. 

He followed that up with the biggest pitching performance of his young career, as he struck-out 12 batters and scattered seven hits over eight innings of work in the Cougars' 11-4 victory over Rowan University in the NJAC tournament to advance to championship day. 

Bartlinski currently ranks tied for seventh in the NJAC in victories with five this season.
