Zeffiro Signs Minor League Deal With Cincinnati Reds

Union, N.J. (6/13/07) - Kean University senior Dan Zeffiro (Old Bridge, N.J.) signed a professional minor-league contract with the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, June 13, 2007.

Zeffiro, a 2007 ABCA/Rawlings Third-Team All-American, finished his collegiate career with a 28-8 overall record in 35 starts, recording 21 complete games.  He finished his career with a 2.43 ERA in 307 and 2/3 innings of work.  His ERA falls second on the all-time list just 0.03 shy of tying the mark. Zeffiro also fanned 226 batters while allowing just 61 walks. 

This season, Zeffiro broke the career win mark with 28 victories, while also tying the single season win mark at 9. 

In 2005, Zeffiro led all of Division III with a 0.90 ERA.

Zeffiro will report to the Billings Mustangs in Billings, Montana where the Pioneer League schedule will start on Tuesday, June 19^th.
