De La Rosa Tabbed Gold Glove Winner

Appleton, Wis. (5/22/08) - Senior shortstop Maikel De La Rosa (Newark, N.J.) was tabbed as the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winner as announced at the NCAA Division III Championship Banquet Thursday evening.

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove team is comprised of 9 players (one at each position) to commend their defensive efforts on the field.

De La Rosa, who was recently named the Mid-Atlantic Region Gold Glove winner at shortstop follows former Cougar Perry Schatzow (Ocean Twp., N.J.) who last season also earned the award at the same position.

This season through 43 games, De La Rosa has committed just four errors in 196 chances.
