Zamorsky Named ECAC Metro Pitcher of the Year as Three Tabbed All-Stars

Centerville, Mass. (5/30/12) – Senior Ryan Zamorsky has been selected as the ECAC Metro Pitcher of the Year as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.  In addition, senior Steve Sanguiliano and sophomore Joe O'Connor were selected all-stars.

Zamorsky becomes the fourth different Cougar to earn the award, as Dan Zeffiro (2007), Joe Augustine (2007), and Mike Russo (2011) all were previous winners.  Zamorsky recently earned one of the season's highest honors, as he was tabbed an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) First-Team All-American.  He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Tournament last week, in addition to his Pitcher of the Year accolades by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA).  Overall, Zamorsky tied the single-season standard with 10 overall wins (10-1) while sporting a 1.14 ERA.  He also recently earned D3baseball.com second-team all-american honors.

Sanguiliano also earned third-team ABCA all-region honors after tallying a .343 batting average in addition to recording eight saves.  He was second on the squad with 11 doubles, four homeruns, 36 RBI, and 16 stolen bases.  He led the team with 44 runs scored this season.  Sanguiliano was also selected as a second-team member of the D3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region team that was recently announced.

O'Connor was selected as a first-team utility member of both the NJAC and NJCBA teams as well as the ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.  He recorded a .352 average with a team-leading 41 RBI, 42 runs scored, 27 walks, 17 stolen bases, nine triples and five homeruns.  He was also recently selected as a member of the Mid-Atlantic All-Tournament team.  O'Connor was also selected as a first-team member of the D3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region team that was recently announced.
