Indianapolis, Ind. (5/13/13) - The 56 team field has been selected for the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament and Kean University has been selected as the number one seed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional, slated to begin on Wednesday, May 15th. The Cougars will travel to PNC Field in Moosic, Pennsylvania, home of the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees.
This marks the eighth straight season the Cougars have advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament, as Kean has captured the regional crown five times in the last six years. The Cougars claimed the ultimate prize in 2007, winning the program's first National Championship.
Kean heads into the tournament with a 34-10 record and they will be squaring off against #8 Penn State-Harrisburg at 1:15 p.m. The Lions are currently 26-14 and are making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the North Eastern Atlantic Conference's (NEAC) automatic bid.
