Hopman, Chiusano Earn Weekly NJAC Honors

Pitman, N.J. (2/21/18) – Pitchers Tyler Hopman and Daniel Chiusano have been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Pitcher and Rookie Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office.

Hopman earns the first NJAC Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2018 season after tossing eight innings of four-hit ball as Kean won its season opener 2-1 over Drew. He struck out six, walked just one, and allowed just one earned run. Batters hit just .148 against him. Hopman is coming off of a sophomore season that saw him post a 5-5 record and 3.79 ERA.

Chiusano earns the first NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2018 season after picking up a save in his first collegiate appearance. He faced three batters in the ninth in a 2-1 win over Drew, striking out one and inducing two flyouts to preserve the one-run lead.
