Goodman Named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. (10/21/07) - Senior inside linebacker Clarence Goodman (Old Bridge, N.J.) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for football after playing a big role in Kean's 35-28 victory over three-time defending NJAC champion Rowan University.

Goodman made a career-best 16 stops, including three tackles for a loss of 22 yards and two sacks for a loss of 20.  One his two sacks pushed Rowan back out of Kean territory with the 11-yard loss in a key fourth-quarter sequence.

The Cougars defeated Rowan for the first time since 1994 and for only the fifth time in 36 all-time meetings.  Goodman currently ranks second in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 9.6 per game.
