Chunn Selected for Football Senior All-Star Classic
UNION, N.J. (11/3/09) - Senior running back Jared Chunn (Tinton Falls, N.J.) has been selected to participate in the inaugural Division III North South Senior Classic in Salem, Va., on December 5th. The game, hosted by the Collegiate Development Football League, will showcase 90 of the nation's top Division III student-athletes, representing the 238 NCAA Division III football sponsoring schools.
The 2008 NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, Chunn has rushed for
more than 100 yards in four of the last five games this season, as
the Cougars have won seven straight and remain undefeated in the
New Jersey Athletic Conference.
With 115 yards against Morrisville State College two weeks ago, Chunn became just the second player in program history to eclipse 3,000 yards rushing. After adding 93 yards in the win over Rowan University, Chunn has rushed for 707 of his 785 yards and all five of his touchdowns in the last five conference games.
Last season, Chunn set the single-season rushing yardage and rushing touchdown records after rushing for 1,405 yards and 13 scores. He also became the program's all-time leader in rushing touchdowns last season and currently has 25 career rushing touchdowns.
