Senior Jared Chunn (Tinton Falls, N.J.) and sophomore Jamahl Williams (Passaic, N.J.) were second-team selections, while junior Chris Lauda (Staten Island, N.Y.) garnered third-team accolades. Cade (pictured left) led the Cougars with 465 receiving yards
and was second with 31 receptions, while tying for team-high honors
with four touchdown receptions. A two-time New Jersey
Athletic Conference selection at tight end, including first-team
honors in 2009, Cade had a career-high 126 yards in the Cougars win
over Western A two-year starter on an offensive line that has led the NJAC in fewest sacks allowed in each of the last two seasons, Green (pictured left) was also a NJAC first-team all-star and was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic District 2 second-team. As a team, the Cougars only allowed six sacks in 2009 and 11 sacks over the last two years (22 games), while also blocking for the two-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Year in Chunn. Chunn bumps up from the third-team honors earned as a junior, as
he led the conference in rushing and became the first player in
school history to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in two different
seasons. After a slow start to 2009, Chunn rushed for at
least 100 yards in six of the final eight games of the year,
finishing with 1,189 yards and nine Williams led the team and was tied for first in the NJAC with five interceptions. The team-leader with 66 total tackles, the safety also had 3.0 tackles for a 12-yard loss and two sacks for a loss of 10 yards. A two-time all-NJAC honoree, Williams made a season-high 13 tackles and one interception in the season opener against Middle Atlantic Conference Champion Delaware Valley College. A three-year starter at cornerback, Lauda led the team and was second in the conference in passes defended (19), as he posted a team-high 15 pass break-ups and added four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. A three-time all-NJAC pick, Lauda has 11 career interceptions, with four returned for a touchdown. The Cougars capped off one of its best season in school history with the program's third-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Bowl Championship, as Kean captured its second ECAC Southeast Bowl Championship in the last four years. |
