Trio Named ECAC Football All-Stars

CAPE COD, Mass. (12/18/09) - Seniors Jared Chunn (Tinton Falls, N.J.) and Alex Cade (Galloway, N.J.) and sophomore Jamahl Williams (Passaic, N.J.) were named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southeast all-stars, as announced by the ECAC on Wednesday afternoon.

A two-time ECAC first-team selection, Chunn (pictured right) led the New Jersey Athletic Conference in rushing and became the first player in program history to twice rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.  After a slow start to 2009, Chunn rushed for at least 100 yards in six of the final eight games of the year, finishing with 1,189 yards and nine touchdowns.  A four-year all-NJAC selection and two-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Year (2008, 2009), Chunn closed our his career with 3,597 yards to rank second in school history, while his 29 career rushing touchdowns and 4,188 career all-purpose yards are program bests.  A D3football.com East Region second-team all-star this season, Chunn played in the inaugural Division III North South Senior Classic in Salem, Va., on December 5.

Cade led the Cougars with 465 receiving yards and was second with 31 receptions, while tying for team-high honors with four touchdown receptions.  A two-time NJAC selection at tight end, including first-team honors in 2009, Cade (pictured left) also earned D3football.com East Region first-team honors.

A two-year starter at safety, Williams led the team and was tied for first in the NJAC with five interceptions.  The team-leader with 66 total tackles, he also had 3.0 tackles for a 12-yard loss and two sacks for a loss of 10 yards.  A two-time all-NJAC honoree, Williams made a season-high 13 tackles and one interception in the season opener against Middle Atlantic Conference Champion Delaware Valley College.

The Cougars capped off one of its best season in school history with the program's third-ever ECAC Bowl Championship, as Kean captured its second ECAC Southeast Bowl Championship in the last four years.
