Daniels Named NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Pitman, N.J. (11/14/11) – Senior kicker Billy Daniels has been named as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the conference office.
Daniels becomes the second different Cougar to earn NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after playing a pivotal role in a 27-14 NJAC road win at Montclair State which clinched the conference title for Kean. In a game of field possession, he averaged 30.4 yards per punt on eight attempts, including two which were downed inside the MSU 20-yard line and a long of 56 yards. In addition he had several well-placed punts that got unlucky bounces into the end zone for touchbacks. He was perfect in the kicking game, connecting on a pair of field goals (26 and 25 yards apiece) and three extra points.
Daniels currently ranks second in the NJAC in field goal percentage (.647).
