Hungerford Tabbed ECAC Division III Defensive Player of the Year

DANBURY, Conn. (12/5/17) – Senior Darin Hungerford has been tabbed the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Defensive Player of the Year and an All-ECAC first team selection for the second straight year.

Hungerford becomes the first player in program history to earn this accolade. The Dumfries, Va. native also earned the NJAC's top defensive honor as he finished with 124 tackles, 80 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He led the NJAC in tackles per game (12.4) and total tackles. He is ranked third nationally in solo tackles, sixth in total tackles and 30th in tackles for loss.  During the season, he broke his own school record for tackles in a game with 25 against nationally ranked Frostburg State.
