Field Hockey Earns NFHCA Academic Honors 

UNION, N.J. - The Kean University field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with a Division III National Academic Team Award and six student-athletes were selected to the 2006 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

To earn the National Academic Team Award, the program must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average collectively among all team members.  Student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher through the first semester of the 2006-07 academic year to be named to the National Academic Squad.

Under Head Coach Dipi Bhaya, the Cougars were one of 90 squads honored by the NFHCA this year.

The following student-athletes were named to the academic squad:

Junior midfielder Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.)
Freshman back Laura Janousek (Yardville, N.J.)
Sophomore forward Liz Margiotta (Berkeley Heights, N.J.)
Sophomore midfielder Katie McGee (Cherry Hill, N.J.)
Sophomore back MaryJo Seminatore (Forked River, N.J.)
