Cougars Drop Heartbreaker, 1-0 to FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. (9/6/06) - FDU-Florham's Christina Fabian (Norwalk, Conn.) scored off a pass from junior forward Krystle Birmingham (Pine Hill, NJ) with 2:15 remaining in the game to lift the Devils to a 1-0 win over Kean University on Wednesday afternoon in field hockey action.

Up until Fabian's goal, there were only a few scoring chances for each team. Sophomore forward Liz Margiotta (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) had two chances for Cougars (1-1) while Fabian also had two chances for the Devils (3-0).

The Cougars out shot the FDU 12-5 and had a 13-6 advantage in corners. Sophomore Lauren Wright (Millville, Del.) made six saves in net for the win. Freshman Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) made two saves for Kean.
