freshman goalkeeper Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights,
N.J.) made 10 saves and junior midfielder Alli
Green (West Deptford, N.J.) scored the game's lone goal
early in the contest, as the Cougars defeated 11th-ranked
Elizabethtown College, 1-0, in non-conference field hockey action
on Saturday evening. The victory improves Kean to 9-6 overall,
while the Blue Jays dropped to 15-4 this season.
Just 5:32 into the game, Green deflected a shot from sophomore
forward Liz Margiotta (Berkeley Heights, N.J.)
following a corner.
Senior goalkeeper Kristen Callaghan (Langhorne,
Pa.) made two saves for Elizabethtown.
The Cougar close out the regular season next Saturday, November 4,
when they host New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Rowan
University at 6 p.m.
