Rowan Edges Field Hockey in Regular Season Finale, 2-1

Union, N.J. (11/4/06) - Junior Danielle Miranda (Flanders, N.J.) provided the game winner as #12 Rowan University defeated Kean University, 2-1, Saturday evening at Kean Alumni Stadium.

Miranda notched her team leading 19th goal in the 59th minute on an assist from junior forward Rachel Cheafsky (Ocean City, N.J.) during a scramble in front of the cage.

Rowan (14-5, 5-1 NJAC) jumped on the board early in the first period as Amanda Greene (Thorofare, N.J.) nailed a shot from the middle of the circle. The Cougars (9-7, 1-5 NJAC) knotted the game in the 10th minute as senior Vicki Egerer (Washington, N.J.) tipped in a pass from Katie McGee (Cherry Hill, N.J.).

Amanda Cucionotti (Voorhees, N.J.) recorded two saves for the Profs, who held a 21-4 advantage in shots and a 17-7 edge in penalty corners. Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) tallied 12 saves for Kean.
