Green, Hoch Earn Weekly NJAC Honors
PITMAN, N.J. (9/17/07) - Senior Alli Green (West
Deptford, N.J.) and freshman Amie Hoch (Egg Harbor
Twp., N.J.) each earned New Jersey Athletic Conference
honors after a 1-1 week for the Kean University field hockey team.
Green, the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, had a goal
and two assists in Kean's 5-0 victory over Philadelphia Biblical
University. The senior captain notched the first goal of the
second half before assisting on the next two to break open the
game. Earlier in the week against Stevens, Green s
cored the team's lone goal in a 2-1 double overtime loss.
The midfielder is currently tied for the team lead in goals (4),
assists (2) and points (10), while ranking tied for second in the
NJAC in total goals scored.
For the second straight week, Hoch was named the NJAC Rookie of
the Week after recording at least one point in both matches.
Against Stevens, the forward assisted on the team's lone goal of
the game. She followed that up with her second goal of the
season against Philadelphia Biblical. For the season, Hoch is
currently tied for the team lead in assists (2), while ranking
third in goals (2) and points (6).
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, September 18, when they
host Montclair State University in NJAC opener for both
teams.
