Wrapping Up the 2010 Season

The Kean University field hockey team posted 10 wins for the fourth straight season and 10th time in the last 11 years, after finishing the season 10-7 overall, 3-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference under second-year head coach Leslie LaFronz. 

Junior Olivia Triano became the school's first NJAC Midfielder of the Year and was named a Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Third-Team All-American, as she led the Cougars and ranked among the conference leaders in goals (10), assists (8) and points (28). 

Seniors Amie Hoch, Erica Kelly, Kelly Mataya, Joelle Vitale and Lauren Dobbs helped the Cougars post a 48-23 record over the last four-years.  Hoch, Kelly and Mataya each scored at least four goals apiece, while Vitale earned first-team NJAC honors for the second straight season from her back position.  A two-year starter in goal, Dobbs recorded a 1.28 goals against average and posted six shutouts.
