Mataya Selected NJAC Offensive Player of the Week

Pitman, N.J. (9/20/10) – Senior Kelly Mataya has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the week after a 2-0 week for the Cougars.

Mataya notched six points in a pair of non-conference wins for the Cougars. She opened the week by registering a goal and two assists for four points in Kean's 7-0 road win at Salve Regina. Three days later, she notched an insurance goal on a penalty stroke to extend the Cougars' winning-streak to five games with a 2-0 victory over St. Joseph's College of Maine.

Mataya currently ranks tied for second in the NJAC in both points (13) and points per game (2.17).
