Triano, King Earn ECAC Accolades

Centerville, Mass. (1/4/12) – Kean University women's soccer player Kaitlin King was recently named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Rookie of the Year while senior field hockey player Olivia Triano earned Mid-Atlantic first-team honors.

King was also named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie of the Year this past fall and became the second Cougar in the past three seasons to earn the accolade.  She was ranked fourth among all goalies in the NJAC with a 0.81 goals against average in conference play.  She was also ranked third with a .812 save percentage.

Triano was recently tabbed as a first-team member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American team, becoming the first player in program history to earn first-team accolades.  She also participated in the 2011 NFHCA Division III Senior Game.  Triano, the 2010 & 2011 New Jersey Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year, played in 71 games recording 59 goals and 147 points, both second in school history.  In addition she tied the career assist mark with 29.  While collecting 14 game-winners in her career she was also named a third-team member of the 2010 NFHCA All-American team as well as a three-time first- team All-NJAC all-star.
