Field Hockey Selected Fourth in NJAC Preseason Poll
Pitman, N.J. (8/15/11) – The Kean University field hockey team has been tabbed to finish fourth in the 2011 New Jersey Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll as announced on Monday.
The Cougars posted a 10-7 overall record in 2010 while finishing fourth in the NJAC with a 3-3 conference mark. Kean also earned a selection to the 2010 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament. Third-year head coach Leslie LaFronz has guided Kean to an overall mark of 21-12, while improving her career collegiate coaching record to 50-59. The Cougars return the 2010 NJAC Midfielder of the Year in senior Olivia Triano. Triano was also named a Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Third-Team All-American, as she led the Cougars and ranked among the conference leaders in goals (10), assists (8) and points (28).
Kean opens the 2011 season as they travel to Johns Hopkins University on Friday, September 2nd.
