Field Hockey Selected Fourth in NJAC Preseason Poll

Pitman, N.J. (8/17/17) – The Kean University field hockey team was selected fourth and received one first-place vote in the 2017 NJAC Preseason Coaches' Poll as announced by the conference office.

Led by the 2016 NJAC Coach of the Year in Leslie LaFronz, the Cougars notched a third-place NJAC regular season finish with a 4-2 mark in league play while securing an 18-4 record overall last season while advancing to the championship game of the 2016 ECAC Tournament. LaFronz has guided Kean to a mark of 99-53 during her eight seasons in Union, giving her a career collegiate coaching record of 128-100. The Cougars return a pair of all-conference players from their 2016 ECAC Tournament runner-up squad in senior forward Krista LaMaina and senior back Shauna LaMaina.
