#20 Field Hockey Blanks Marywood, 9-0

Union, N.J. (9/15/17) - Teresa Carr led the Kean University field hockey team with a hat-trick as the Cougars breezed by Marywood University by the final of 9-0 on Friday night.  

Shauna LaMaina got the action started early as she scored within the first few minutes off a pass from Carr, who seconds later scored her first goal of the night.  Carr then fired her second goal past the keeper off a restart that gave Kean a 3-0 lead.  Kean added two more goals to give them a comfortable lead going into the break.    

In the second half of play, the Cougars recorded four more goals to finish the impressive performance where six different players had markers.  Carr (3), S. LaMaina (2), Krista LaMaina (1), Rachel Mills (1), Raykena Brown (1), and Lia DiPiazza (1) all recoded goals on the night.  

K. LaMaina also added an assist on the night that made her the Cougars all-time assists leader with 30.

Senior Katie-Lynne Lussier played lock down defense to aid in the shutout for the Cougars.     

The Cougars return to action on Sunday as they host St. Joseph's College of Maine at 11:00 am.
