Pitman, N.J. (9/18/17) – Senior Shauna LaMaina was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office.
She was also selected as an honorable mention Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III weekly award winner.
LaMaina earns her first and Kean's second NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, joining sister Krista who earned it two weeks ago. She helped the Cougars to three more wins to remain undefeated and in the national top 20, as they posted three shutouts last week. LaMaina was on fire offensively, rattling off five goals and assisting on five others. She assisted twice in a 5-0 win over Delaware Valley, and scored twice and assisted on one other in a 9-0 win over Marywood. She completed a hat trick with three goals along with two assists in a 6-0 win over St. Joseph's (ME). Along with her offensive explosion, the defensive mid helped the Kean defense limit its three opponents to just eight combined shots.
LaMaina currently leads all NJAC scorers in points (20) and assists (8), and ranks tied for fourth in goals (6).
