Field Hockey Takes Field for a Good Cause

UNION, N.J. (10/12/17) - Among the Cougars impressive run this season, the Kean University field hockey team gave back to some extremely important causes. The Cougars hosted a Gold game against Marywood University on September 15 and a Pink game against Ramapo College on October 3.

The Gold game saw Kean wear gold shoe laces and gold socks to raise awareness about pediatric cancer. The Cougars raised $710 for the Go4TheGoal Foundation; a New Jersey based non-profit organization that helps improve the lives of children batting cancer. Marywood also chipped in by donating $100 to the Cougars fundraising efforts.

The Pink game saw Kean wear pink laces and pink socks in support of October's breast cancer awareness month. The Cougars made a $500 donation to the Play4TheCure Foundation, a Maryland based non-profit organization, which is a fundraising platform for the National Foundation for Cancer Research. The P4TC is currently sponsored by Longstreth and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA)

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the #14 Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 in Galloway, N.J. against the Ospreys of Stockton University at 1:00 p.m.
