Williams Tabbed NJAC Rookie of the Week
PITMAN, N.J. (1/14/08) - For the second
straight week, freshman guard Keith Williams (Jersey City,
N.J.) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC)
Rookie of the Week after averaging 19.5 points in a pair of NJAC
games last week.
Williams, who earns the honor for the third time this season,
scored the final seven points of the game against Rutgers-Camden,
lifting the Cougars to the 48-43 road win. In that game,
Williams finished with 19 points, six rebounds and three
steals. He followed that up with a game-high 20 points, while
adding four assists and two steals in a 59-56 NJAC defeat to NJCU.
Williams, who shot .632 (12-of-19) from the field, .500
(5-of-10) from three-point range, and .909 (10-of-11) from the foul
line in the two contests combined, currently ranks third in the
NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.452).
