Wright Selected Kean Athlete of the Week
Union, N.J. (2/11/08) - Senior Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) has been selected as the Kean Athlete of the Week for his performances in two key wins against Rutgers-Camden and Rutgers-Newark during the week of February 4th.
In Wednesday's action against Rutgers-Camden Wright finished with a game-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds and four steals as the Cougars defeated the Scarlet Raptors, 65-41. Wright then helped spark a Cougar rally in Saturday's game against Rutgers-Newark as he tallied 17 second half points to give KU a 75-66 win. His last bucket of the game gave him exactly 1,000 career points at Kean to become the 29th player in the Kean men's basketball record books to accomplish the feat.
Overall Wright is averaging 18.9 points per game in 14 games this season.
