Williams Tabbed NJAC Rookie of the Week

Pitman, N.J. (11/19/07) - Freshman guard Keith Williams (Jersey City, N.J.) was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Williams earns the first NJAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week honor after averaging 19.5points and 4.5 rebounds per game during a pair of contests at Susquehanna's Pepsi/Weis Markets Tournament.

He opened his collegiate career by notching 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range, while adding seven rebounds and four assists in Kean's 87-80 overtime loss to the host Crusaders. He wrapped up the tournament by notching 12 points, two rebounds, and two steals in Kean's 88-53 consolation game win over Penn College.

Williams, who shot .640 (16-25) combined in the two contests, currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.778).
