Galloway, N.J. (11/20/12) – The Kean University men’s basketball team fell to host Richard Stockton College in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both by the final of 75-55, Tuesday evening.
The Ospreys (3-0, 1-0 NJAC) scored the first basketball of the contest and held on to the lead throughout. Kean falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC with the loss.
Junior Michael Burton led the Cougars with 10 points while senior Mike Shaughnessy recorded six rebounds.
Richard Stockton and Kean recorded similar field goal and three point percentages, but the Ospreys took advantage of 22 trips to the charity stripe to record 17 points, compared to just four for the Cougars.
Kean enjoys a short break and returns to action on Wednesday, November 28th when they travel to Ramapo College.
