Men's Lacrosse Falls to #15 Stevens in Skyline Playoffs 

HOBOKEN, N.J. (4/25/07) - The Kean University men's lacrosse team fell to top-seeded and 15th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology, 19-4, in Skyline Conference Semifinal action on Wednesday afternoon. 

For the Cougars (11-6), freshman attack Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.) posted a goal and an assist, while the Ducks (13-3) were led by junior attack J.R. Oreskovich (San Diego, Calif.).

The Ducks tallied the first goal of the game just 81 seconds into the contest and built a 7-0 lead after the first period.  Stevens extended the lead to 10-0 before the Cougars scored three of the final four goals of the half.

For the game, Stevens held a 54-20 advantage in shots and a 53-20 edge in groundballs.

Kean senior midfielder Josh Foote (Monroeville, N.J.) won five face-offs and grabbed three groundballs, while junior goalkeeper Dave Nichols (Florham Park, N.J.) made 19 saves.  Senior attack Steve Gill (Patchogue, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Josh Morales (Clifton, N.J.) and freshman midfielder Sean Cope (Succasunna, N.J.) each added a goal. 

The Cougars await a possible bid to the ECAC Metro Region Tournament beginning on May 12th.
