BETHLEHEM, Pa. (04/20/08) - Junior Chris DeCarlo (Sandy, Utah) scored a game-high five goals to lead the Kean University men's lacrosse team to a 14-7 victory over host Moravian College on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars (10-5) scored seven straight goals in the second-half to pull away from the Greyhounds (4-10).
After trailing the Greyhounds, 4-3, after a quarter of play, Kean
opened the second quarter with three unanswered goals, taking the
lead for good on an extra-man goal by sophomore Anthony
Bertucci (Edison, N.J.).
In the second half, after Moravian scored the first goal of the third quarter, DeCarlo (pictured left) netted the first of seven straight Kean goals to outscore the Greyhounds, 7-2, in the final two quarters of the play.
Sophomore attack Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.) netted three goals, while junior attack Eric Gillar (Milltown, N.J.) had three assists.
Senior goalkeeper Dave Nichols (Florham Park, N.J.) made six saves in the victory.
The Cougars have their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, April 22, hosting Alvernia College at 7 p.m.
