Sheiner, Men's Lacrosse Earn Skyline
Honors

- After capturing the Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse
Championship, Kean University had five players earn all-conference
honors, while Head Coach Shelley Sheiner earned Coach of the Year
honors, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Nichols earned first-team honors, while midfielder
C.J. Gannon and long-stick midfielder Tom
Eller were named second-team all-stars.
In his fifth-year at the helm, Sheiner has
guided the Cougars to its first Skyline championship in program
history and fifth conference title in school history after also
winning four Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference Championship.
The Cougars also tied the program record for wins in a season,
currently with a 14-5 overall record.
Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.) earns his first
all-conference nod after ranking second in the conference in both
goals per game (47/2.47) and points (75/3.95). The sophomore
netted the game-winning goal in the conference championship game,
scoring with 57 seconds remaining in the 8-7 victory.
Earning all-conference honors for the second time in their
careers, Miceli (East Setauket, N.Y.) and
Nichols (Florham Park, N.J.) anchored a defensive
unit that ranked second in the conference goal against average
(8.21). Miceli (pictured right) ranked first on the team in
caused turnovers (12), while picking up 25 groundballs.
Nichols, who averaged 12.84 saves per game, made 12 saves in the
championship game to also earn Most Valuable Player honors in the
tournament.
Playing his first season of intercollegiate lacrosse,
Gannon (Morris Plains, N.J.) ranked second on the
team in goals (30) and third in points (46), while picking up 27
groundsballs.
Eller (West Caldwell, N.J.) ranked second on
the team in groundballs (58), while causing seven turnovers and
adding one assist.
