Men's Lacrosse Closes Out 2009 at Stevens

Hoboken, N.J. (5/8/09) - Freshman Alex Hofrichter (Cincinnati, Ohio) notched a game-high four goals as #1 Stevens Institute of Technology defeated #4 Kean University, 14-4, in the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Tournament on Friday evening.

The Ducks (11-6) will now face #3 Drew University on Sunday in the championship. 

Stevens quickly jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and led by as many as seven before junior Anthony Bertucci (Edison, N.J.) put Kean (12-8) on the board. 

The Ducks dominated this evening's action as they outshot the Cougars 52-20 while also collecting 45 groundballs.

Bertucci led Kean with two goals.  In net junior John Gesumaria (Cranford, N.J.) had 14 saves.
