Carpenter, John Marcelli and Matt Speciale also connected during the opening 15 minutes, with Carpenter adding two assists as well. The second period was more of the same, this time with Carpenter completing his first half hat trick, as the Cougars led 10-0 at the break.
Ryan Coakley added a pair of goals in the third period for the Leopards, (6-8) but it was not enough. Vincent Ferraro (pictured left) became the third person on the afternoon to record a three goal game, as he scored to push the Kean advantage to 14-1.
Carpenter finished the game with five goals and two assists, while Cheifitz had three goals and two helpers on the afternoon. Dino Vitale, Garret VanDoren and Maxwell Fields were stellar in net, combining to make 20 saves. Jared Proulx and Jeff Bathalon made nine saves in the losing effort.
