Men’s Lacrosse Pours 22 on Purchase

PURCHASE, N.Y. (4/4/17) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team netted a season-high 22 goals in a dominant win over Purchase College on the road on Tuesday. 11 different Cougars lit the lamp, led by Matt Brodley, who had five goals and an assist.

It was the most goals scored by the Cougars in over a year, since a 22-3 victory over Western Connecticut State university on March 2, 2016.

Connor Baucom picked up 14 ground balls – the most by any Cougar in a game this season – and won 25-of-34 faceoffs in the game.

Besides Brodley, other multiple-goal scorers in the game for Kean were Brian Mills, Alec Ramos, Tyler Roberto, Andrew Yenesel and Cole Blackley.

Tom Kelly, Mark Marchino (pictured left), Michael Shapiro, Tyler Foss and Jake Frankovits also had a goal for the Cougars. Foss also grabbed three ground balls.

Dylan Gethickicker had six points for Purchase in the losing effort. The Panthers are now 0-6. Kean is back at .500 (5-5) and 3-2 in the Skyline Conference.

The Cougars will return home on Saturday and host an early-season Senior Day at 4 p.m. against Mount Saint Mary College in Skyline action.
