Bushey Scores Two as Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Rival Montclair State in Regular Season Finale

UNION, N.J. (5/4/18)- Jack Bushey scored two goals as the Kean University men's lacrosse team dropped its regular season finale to archrival Montclair State University, 7-5 on Friday evening.

Matt Haemmerle scored two goals for the Red Hawks who finish their regular season at 9-6 overall. Thomas Francy made 13 saves for the Cougars who finish their regular season at 12-5 overall.

Bushey scored both goals in the fourth quarter as Kean trailed 6-1 at the 7:15 mark of the third quarter. Bushey's scores and a Jake Frankovits goal cut the Red Hawks lead to 7-5 with less than three minutes to play.

Despite making the late run, Kean simply ran out of time as MSU secured the ball with just over a minute to play and held it until the final horn sounded.

Tyler Roberto tallied a goal and an assist, while Mike Snellen scored a goal and Forrest Terpe notched an assist. Matt Palmieri finished with five groundballs and a caused turnover, while Greg Castor totaled four groundballs and three caused turnovers.
