Frankovits Scores Twice as Men’s Lacrosse Ends Season in ECAC Semifinals

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (May 12, 2018)- Jake Frankovits scored two goals as the Kean University men's lacrosse team had its season come to an end with a 19-6 loss to Stockton University in the ECAC semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

Luc Swedlund scored four goals for the Ospreys who improve to 11-4 overall and advance to Sunday's ECAC Championship game with host Muhlenberg College at 2:00 p.m. Tom Kelly totaled two assists for the Cougars who finish their season at 12-6 overall.

After Tyler Roberto scored the contests opening goal, Stockton rallied off nine straight goals before Frankovits stopped the run with a goal at the 4:34 mark of the second quarter. The Ospreys held a commanding 10-2 advantage at halftime.

Stockton scored another nine goals in the second half as Kean couldn't recover from the halftime deficit despite goals from Scott Royster, Frankovits, Matthew Schwartz and Mark Marchino. The Ospreys stretched their lead to 15-4, before Schwartz's goal to start the fourth quarter.

Thomas Francy, Ryan Sieb, and Peter D'Antoni combined for eight saves and 60 minutes in net. Francy took the loss and finished the season at 7-4 overall. Matt Tanis finished with five groundballs and four caused turnovers, while Connor Baucom collected five groundballs. Kelly and Mike Snellen both finished with three groundballs.
