Tuesta Earns Kean Male Athlete of the Month Honor

UNION, N.J. (11/1/06) - Junior forward Anthony Tuesta of the Men's Soccer team has been tabbed the Male Athlete of the Month for October. Tuesta played and started in 10 of Kean's 11 matches during the month and tallied six goals, including two game-winners.

Two of his six goals were critical, as he notched the team's only goal in a 1-1 tie on October 4th against nationally ranked Stevens Institute of Technology. Tuesta tied the match in the 68th minute, as he connected a deflected shot. His other key tally was the match's lone goal against NJAC foe The College of New Jersey on October 14th.

For his efforts this season, the New Jersey Athletic Conference just recently named Tuesta the Offensive Player of the Year. Tuesta currently ranks second in the NJAC in points (28), goals (13), points per game (1.40) and goals per game (0.65). In NJAC conference play, he finished second in the league in points (12), goals (5), points per game (1.50) and goals per game (0.62).
