Tuesta Tabbed NJAC Offensive Player of the
Year
POMONA, N.J. (11/1/06) - Junior forward
Anthony Tuesta (Clifton, N.J.) was tabbed the New
Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the
Year, as selected by the NJAC coaches and announced by the
conference on Wednesday afternoon.
In his first season in a Cougar uniform since transferring to Kean
from Mercer County Community College, Tuesta led the team in points
(28) and goals (13), ranking second in the conference in both
categories.
Tuesta tallied the team's lone goal in the Cougars' 1-0 victory
over conference-rival The College of New Jersey, and also added a
pair of goals in the 4-0 win at Rutgers-Newark. In the team's nine
conference games, Tuesta recorded at least one point in six of the
games.
Tuesta is the seventh player in program history to earn NJAC Player
of the Year honors and the first since Rudy Lormil earned the
distinction in 2002.
