Men's Soccer Closes Out 2008 With Win

Mahwah, N.J. (10/29/08) - Freshman Marc Cifelli (Essex Fells, N.J.) scored the match's lone goal in the first half as the Kean's men's soccer team finished the 2008 season by defeating host Ramapo College, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon.

With the win the Cougars finish 7-12-1 overall and 2-7 in the NJAC. The loss drops Ramapo to 7-10-2 overall and 1-6-2 in conference play.

Cifelli (pictured right) scored the unassisted goal at 43:10 for the match's lone goal of the afternoon. Keeper Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.) tallied 11 saves in the win for his fifth shutout of the year.

Oquendo finishes the season with 122 saves, good for third best in single-season history.
