Oquendo Tabbed Third-Team All-Region

Kansas City, Kan. (12/11/08) - Sophomore goalkeeper Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.) has been tabbed as a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) third-team Metro Region all-star as announced on Thursday.

In NJAC games, Oquendo (pictured right) led the conference in both saves (82) and saves per games (9.11), while also ranking second in save percentage (963) in nine games.  In 20 games overall this season, Oquendo finished with 122 saves, the third most in single season history at Kean.

Oquendo stopped three-of-four penalty kicks this year, including two in Kean's 2-1 double overtime victory over NJAC-rival Rutgers-Newark.
