Men's Soccer Wins In Overtime For First Season Win

Long Island, N.Y. (9/9/17) - Freshman Russell Hoffer knocked in a loose ball 1:09 seconds into overtime to give the Kean University men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over the University of Southern Maine on Saturday.

Prior to Hoffer's game winning goal, Erick Reyes scored his first goal of the season for the Cougars with just 3:56 remaining in regulation to force extra time.

Kean was trailing 1-0 with only minutes remaining in the game when Christian Pozzoli found Reyes who scored past the keeper on the right.  This erased the early deficit after Joseph Kalilwa scored a quick goal for the Huskies in the first half.

Kean returns to action Sunday against St. Joseph's College-L.I. in day two of the SJC Invitational Tournament.
