Union, N.J. (9/17/17) – The Kean University men's soccer team soared past St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn by the final of 8-0 on Sunday afternoon.
After 20 minutes of play, freshman Danny Guillen got the action started for the Cougars as he netted a rebound shot off a save from the keeper. Nicholas Sica sent a long pass up field to Kamsi Udodi, who took a few touches and fired a shot that was saved by the diving keeper. Being in the right place at the right time, Guillen followed up the shot and sent it to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Minutes later, Udodi recorded his second assist on the day as he sent a ball past the keeper and across the box to Erick Reyes who buried the shot into the open net. Before the first half ended, Reyes added his second goal of the day, this time on his own. Reyes received the ball on the run towards the box, made a move past the defender and ripped a shot into the upper left corner of the net.
After the break, Kean added five more goals to finish the dominating 8-0 victory. Guillen (1), Reyes (2), Michael Vargas (2), Jung Eui Hong (1), and Jake Santos (2) all contributed to the scoring on the night.
Kean dominated from start to finish as they controlled most of the possessions and recorded a total of 27 shots.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday as they take on Ursinus College at 7:30 p.m.
